A graduate of the Department of Filmmaking at Taipei National University of the Arts, Wei-Heng Kao is currently studying at the École nationale supérieure d’audiovisuel (ENSAV) in Toulouse, France. His practice spans fiction, documentary, and experimental filmmaking. His works have been selected for the Golden Harvest Awards, Wuhan Berlin Film Week, the Beijing International Short Film Festival (BISFF), the 42nd Kassel Documentary Film and Video Festival, and Festival Tous Courts d’Aix-en-Provence, among other international film festivals. He received the Experimental Grand Prix at France’s Court’Échelle Student Short Film Festival.

During his studies, Kao also participated in the film selection process for the Kuan-Du Film Festival at Taipei National University of the Arts. He subsequently joined the programming team of the Taipei Film Festival, where he served as a Program Assistant before taking on responsibilities in programming and international liaison. Through these roles, he developed substantial practical experience in film selection and festival programming.
